Mission Statement in English
CPAC was founded in late 2000 by a group of Chinese Americans in the Greater Sacramento Area who are concerned with the Chinese American community's lack of representation in the public arena, in city, state and congressional offices. Since its founding, the organization has worked on voter registration, hosted a get-to-know-the-candidate event, participated in the campaign of a local city council candidate and written to Senators Feinstein and Boxer opposing the nomination of a federal appeals court judge who is anti civil rights. With your support CPAC will empower the Chinese American community and contribute to its coming of age politically. CPAC's objectives are 1. To ensure that Chinese Americans enjoy full Constitutional rights and social privileges inherent to all United States citizens; 2. To provide an effective voice on issues and events of concern to Chinese Americans; 3. To encourage Chinese Americans to participate actively in elections and other political activities; 4. To endorse candidates for local, state, and national office who will further CPAC's mission; 5. To support and promote local, state, and national causes that further the best interest of Chinese Americans; 6. To oppose prejudice and discriminatory actions against Chinese Americans; 7. To share in political activities of Asian American and other communities that further the interest of Chinese Americans.
